Spurs: Tottenham send scouts to watch rising star……
He has been a regular for club and country…
At this stage of the season, Tottenham Hotspur is one of just two unbeaten teams in the Premier League. The Lilywhites and their rivals from North London, Arsenal, have dominated teams like Manchester United and Liverpool in their early victories. Every week that goes by, Ange Postecoglou’s appointment appears to be Daniel Levy’s first brilliant move since bringing in Mauricio Pochettino all those years ago.
Whilst in a position of strength, Spurs must take advantage, both on and off the pitch. On the pitch, they have the chance to begin the cycle of creating history. Meanwhile, away from the flawless turf at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they could return to the transfer market to welcome one particular rising star.
The fact that record striker Harry Kane left Spurs in the summer makes their start even more remarkable. The England international moved from North London to Bayern Munich in the hopes of putting a stop to his trophy hunt. In the meantime, his old team used their newfound wealth to bring in players like Micky van de Ven, Brennan Johnson, and James Maddison.
But according to the most recent Kerem Akturkoglu transfer rumours, Levy might try to sign the winger. Spurs sent scouts to study the Galatasaray player during his team’s 2-1 Turkish Super Liga victory over Besiktas, according to Milliyet. However, Atletico Madrid reportedly sent representatives to observe Akturkoglu in addition to the Premier League team.
It remains to be seen whether Spurs will push ahead with a deal to sign the 25-year-old. If the scout reports come back and highlight a number of positives, then he may well find himself on Levy’s shortlist for either January or next summer’s transfer window.
Akturkoglu, 25, has established himself as Mr. Consistent at Galatasaray thanks to his appearances. In his last 133 games, he has made appearances for both his club and the Turkish national team, appearing in 129 of them. These days, availability can mean more than most characteristics because of the staggering amount of games that teams play every week. The winger can continue that streak of play without suffering an injury.
The numbers for Akturkoglu also speak for themselves. This season, the winger has made a great start for Galatasaray in that regard, registering 12 goal involvements in just 17 games, with five goals and seven assists. The kind of stats Maddison has received praise for at the Spurs only raises questions.
